Input list
An input list names the microphones, instruments and playback sources that need connections to the sound system. Use it alongside the stage plot.
A connection list for the performance
An input list identifies each sound source the engineer needs to receive, such as a lead vocal, guitar, keyboard or playback feed. It often includes a channel reference, source name, microphone or connection requirement and useful notes. It describes what enters the sound system; it is not the same document as a playlist, running order or equipment quotation.
What the organiser should collect
Ask the artist for the current list and the technical contact who can clarify it. Use the same performer and instrument names on the stage plot. Identify which items the artist brings and which are requested on site. Keep mono and stereo requirements explicit, and let the engineer agree the technical connection details with the artist.
Keep revisions together
If a performer or instrument changes, update the input list and stage plot together. Send a dated version before the equipment plan is final, and confirm any remaining questions during the production advance.
