Site recce

A site recce is a planning visit to the proposed venue. Record the actual event space, equipment access, production positions and unanswered questions.

A site visit connects the floor plan with the actual stage, access route and working positions.

A visit with specific questions

A site recce is a planning visit to the proposed event location. It helps the organiser, venue representative and production team discuss the actual space together. The useful result is a record of agreed arrangements and open questions, not simply a collection of attractive photographs. A recce does not by itself approve a structure, electrical installation or crowd layout.

Look at the whole production route

Identify the exact room or outdoor area, the stage position, the intended audience area and possible sound-control location. Walk the permitted equipment route from unloading to stage and note any doors, stairs or shared access. Ask the venue about rehearsal access, existing equipment and who can answer remaining technical questions.

Turn observations into a brief

Label photographs by position and date, record measurements supplied or confirmed by the venue, and list decisions that still need a responsible person’s approval. Share the notes with the relevant team before the production quotation and schedule are finalised.
