How to brief a concert production team in Lahore

Prepare a Lahore concert brief with the venue, audience, artist requirements, soundcheck schedule and decisions the production crew needs.

01

Describe the show before choosing equipment

Start with one clear paragraph: the event name, proposed date, venue or shortlist, approximate audience and type of performance. Say whether the bill is a solo singer, a full band, several acts or a DJ programme. A useful Lahore enquiry also names the actual hall, lawn or campus space; a hotel or university name alone may cover several very different locations. Mark each detail as confirmed, provisional or still to be decided.

02

Show the audience and stage areas

Share a simple venue plan and recent photographs from the stage, the back of the audience area and the equipment entrance. Identify seated and standing areas, balconies or separate listening zones. Indicate where the sound desk could go and whether the stage already exists. These are planning inputs, not an instruction to select a speaker count. Let the production team assess the room, performance and proposed audience layout together.

03

Collect the artist information in one place

Ask each artist or their technical contact for a current rider, input list and stage plot. Record who supplies instruments, amplifiers, DJ equipment and playback devices. If an artist has not confirmed their requirements, show that as an open item rather than copying a rider from an old show. Put the person who can approve equipment substitutions in contact with the production lead before the equipment list is final.

04

Work backwards from doors opening

Separate the time the public arrives from the time the first act performs. Before both, allow agreed periods for equipment access, setup, line checks, artist soundchecks and any rehearsal. Add changeovers between performers and the venue’s agreed finish and collection times. A production schedule needs owners as well as times: one organiser should confirm when the room is available, and one person should approve programme changes.

05

Send a brief that can become a conversation

Finish with the sound, lighting and staging support you need, an optional production budget in PKR, and the questions still unresolved. Mention photography, filming or recording requirements early because they can affect lighting and audio planning. Send one dated version to the team and update it when the venue or lineup changes. An enquiry helps establish scope; availability, equipment, staffing and price are confirmed separately.
